Here we have a design that was put on the internet during the Deepwater Horizon spill in 2010 with a BP logo.
When you read through the various strategies in this section you will see what is wrong with this image.
1. The skimming system is the wrong way around, the bigger vessel has the skimmer and most important the storage space for the recovered oil.
2. Dispersant is sprayed on fresh oil which would be in the foreground not behind the skimming vessels.
3. The spotter plane should be above the spraying operation to give instructions to the spray aircraft.
Unfortunately the design is showing what actually happened during this event.
Spraying was done behind the burning and skimming operations mainly on open water or emulsified oil.
